Therer's still 2 cuda's here. I wanted to finish my build before I finished installing Don's dana.  He is not able to play with his car for a while yet, due to being stationed in Hawaii for another year or so.  The white cuda goes in for a paint job in 30 days or so.  I plan on test and tune pretty soon.  Maybe this saturday night or next in Moulton. I had considered Huntsville to.

Alan just stopped by for a visit on his way home from another out of town job.  He wanted me to tell y'all he's still around just busy now that he's been allowed to go back to work on what he calls "light duty".

Alan,

Looks like that 572 is coming together pretty good!  What size carb are you running on that monster?

Alan when are you going to post a video of your engine running???  How soon do we get to see a time slip???  In all my time there with you I never asked, I was so focused on the cuda.

Did some work to the car today. Installed the engine diaper, finished interior lights for the inside for night time racing., hooked up the tail lights and rear side marker lights, finished the evac system, and changed the oil. I''m going to run the valves again, install the lower rad hose, then wait for the track to open for test n tune.  I went from an 1150 to a 1250 quickfuel, so I nned to adjust it at operating temp.  I got the timing set at 35 degress on the crank trigger today and distributor phased.  I will not start my engine in the cold, since it's all aluminum, so going to get 10 gallons of C16 tomorrow.    Chance of statrting it on Saturday   Oh yeah, I need to sell this 1150 holley ultra, so I can buy a new set of slicks before my next time out.

Sounds like you got some steps yet to go.  Make sure you video the start up!

With all my new modifications, I just cranked it up. Absolutely no issues either.   I am buy myself, so I have nobody to video first start up, since I had to set idle, and monitor temps. I had to heat my shop up to 65 degrees for 2 days to get the block a little warmer, then idle only until the engine could heat soak.  This engine grows around  .012 thou, from cold to hot. Shame there isnt anyone around to fellowship with me today. I will get a video soon. But swapping out the 1150 holley ultra dominator to a quickfuel 1250 seemed to make a significant change and attitude in the engine. Also going from 2 1/8th headers to 2 3/8ths seemes to help it with throttle response.  I locked my timing on the crank trigger in on 35 degrees and rephased the distributor.  It's running on 115 octane VP fuel, so this should be a good starting point for referencing my tune up.  I love it when you have an 800 lift cam at 286/297 duration @.050  with a 113 c/l and 113 lobe seperation idleing at 1000 rpms, It sounds so good to my ears.      Ribeye time
