carlisle attendee's
« on: July 01, 2014 - 03:19:20 PM »
I would like to put out there that I am looking for M46 scoops.
I hear of them every other year or so out there at carlisle.
If someone comes across a set, please call me.

I will entertain any price.

Also looking for the smaller red interior pieces.  Just sayin.  Thanks for looking at this thread.

If we see a set, how much is a good price?

I told myself to limit my shopping this year. It's always fun to shop for others though.

If you see them for $20 buy them so you can sell them to Josh for $200 :money:

Josh would pay 800 for good originals. I paid 1200 for a set once, but they were like new. I bought another set for 900 before with 1 stud needing repair

Wow. You know that you could have a set hand carved out of wood in the Philippines for about $40, have them painted and it'll save you about $1,160. Probably look just like originals when installed.

I'll keep my eyes out for them, but haven't seen them in the past.

back in town.

I don't think yyz has any for sale.
He does have some.  But not for sale.  I think NOS.

Al's right.  When it comes down to it.  Those prices are all in line.  Although, I really like Alan's idea!

If I recall correctly, Dutch made his, and I can say from experience that they look great.

Indeed they do look great.

I'm not desperate.  I have two sets.  They are uniquely different though.

so, I have some inner curiosity as to whether or not there are more differences.

PLus one of my sets has some rust.

Since I can't seem to find any of the other rare parts I like, I might as well try to collect some more of these.

Since we are shopping, I'm looking for an SE Belt moulding, passenger front fender piece. I have a driver's side to trade or will buy if you tell me what spot you find it in. I'll be in the Cuda-challenger tent or leave my phone number at the tent.

Sorry Josh, I MEANT to hi-jack your thread.

So, I understand that you have 2 sets already but want to buy more?

Can you scan those pieces and print some on a 3d printer?  If those things can print a working-shooting gun, it would probably be strong enough for a decoration piece like those M46 scoops.
It seems like those would catch rocks and dirt and be impossible to flush out at the car wash. Are they open in the back?

Well, since you need bumps...

If there's a show special from Auto City Glass, would somebody get a cell phone and PM it to me? Thanks.

.I do have two sets.  But one of the sets has some rust problems.
I have two cars I want sets for.  So, I am basically lacking one set.

I have considered doing the three d route, but have not pursued this idea.  I've heard the cost would be prohibitive.
But with a set being almost 1K, maybe not.

No they do not have holes in the rear.  And yes, they are a rust problem for sure.
I have a few idea to fix this.  I'm after the look though.  So, the rust problems are not as big a concern.
