    Hi Guys,
    I live in Louisiana where it is only about 10 degrees cooler than hell itself but 10 times as humid.
     
    With this being said, I want to put a transmission cooler somewhere to get it out from the bottom of the radiator on my '72 Cuda. I have a new repo radiator and

    there is precious little room in front of the radiator due to the hood release, ac dryer and horns. So what cooler are you guys using, and where did you mount it?

    Any help, advice, pictures will be greatly appreciated.

    I have seen billet alum finned cooler that can be fitted under the floor or beside the rad  like this http://www.jegs.com/i/Moroso/710/41200/10002/-1

    For a transmission cooler to work properly, it should be in the direct air flow.  B & M sells a transmission cooler that looks like a radiator.  It's made by a company called Tru-Cool.  Best coolers on the market.  Used by Ford and Chrysler at one time as an OEM transmission cooler.  Be inventive with the mounting, you don't have to mount it through the rad with those silly plastic attaching mounts, make some brackets for it.  I've got a 74 Challenger, and while I don't have an AC condensor to contend with, there seems to be a lot of room up front.

    I hear ya on the weather here! That cracks me up, where ya located? I'm right on the northshore of Ponchatrain it rains here pretty much every day! Big change from where I lived in Texas

    I'm adding a 518 tranny and need a solution too, I have AC so spacing is sorta tight in front of the radiator.

    Would it be a bad idea to put it on the engine side?

    Sorry for the late reply, been out of town for the 4th.
    masbaugh, I live in West Monroe. East of Shreveport on I-20.
    I saw my best friend this weekend and he said he has used the B&M cooler tansman is mentioned. I plan to order one of these this week and have some
    stainless lines with an fittings for the connection.
    I'll let you know how it works out and where and how I mount it.

    Transman, which B&M cooler are you talking about specifically? Can you supply part number or BTU's?

    I spent a few weeks in West Monroe working at GPI.. Humid, rains cats & dogs & now famous for Ducks Die Nasty...  Plus anything else those boys can get a shot at.... :lol:

    Thats my set up.....  a HAYDEN Cooler  for RTV´s    Stand alone  works great !

    Funny what Transman said, my retired buddy who used to own a tranny shop swears by Tru-Cool.  They look sturdy.  That Hayden looks like it could have been made by Tru-Cool.
