modern headlights into challenger

I was reading an article about Joe Rogans (fear factor) 70 cuda and i read that the headlights are modern hi output headlights but they look like and fit like the old ones does anyone have any info on a headlight swap?

Quartz haligen h-4 headlight are all you need  bosch, hella, or the best cibie no need to change anything but the headlight bulbs up to 100/180 watts but you would need a relay to run those bulbs.As long as they are aimed right they are unbeetable the first mod i ever did was cibie headlight ! And i took them out when i sold it!Cheepies in the JC witney catologe> dont lough they are better than stock.

Can you elaborate on the relay ?

Relay uses low current 12volt from toggle switch to activate lights ,sort of takes the draw away from the switch so it wont overheat.

Is this an "Auto Zone" type device for converting older cars? Where do you get one?

Had time to think a little A headlight relay uses 12 volts directly from the battery to the relay from the relay to the lights the switch just triggers the relay to activate the lights. It will not make them brighter but it will save your headlight switch from over heating of you use high power lights!Get the parts guy to check the light book for h-4 quartz haligon lights.Bosch, lucas, cibie , are but some of the Brands.Relays are at the parts store as well!Be warned once you put them in and aim them properly you will be hooked they are great have a "cut off" line and a well focused pattern!

Looks like typical quartz halogen replacement light with the newer style blue bulb. I have tried those bulbs but prefer the white ones the blue ones show funny shadows in the road for some reason!

Just I case you haven't seen these, I noticed them in a JC Whitney catalog and looked them up on the web. It seems the bulbs aren't actually bulbs but housings for 9003/H4 Halogen bulbs. Is this what you guys are talking about?

Page wouldn't open but more than likley yes i've seen them in thier catolog before but the more recognizable the name the better the light ie bosch, cibie, lucas, hella,just replace the old ones and line them up and you will be illuminated!

Don't forget that the reason they were getting 14V was because the car was running the alternator puts out more that 12V....
